Tell us why you became a teacher

It’s something that I’ve just always known I wanted to be. From a very young age I was always drawn to children. I love interacting with them, helping them and watching them grow and succeed.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had this little boy who was adopted at a very young age. He came from a different country, however he spoke English fluently. He did however struggle with reading and math. He loved math the most and would ask to do math all day long. During one of the math lessons, he just hollered out “Wait! I get it!!!” And got the biggest smile on his face. The feeling of joy I had will never be forgotten.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put it towards my student loans and other debts. I want to help take off some financial stress from my family. Without debt, then I could pour into my classroom more and give my students better experiences, materials, classroom resources and so on.
