During my time at Texas Southern University, I explored several professional paths, including pharmacy, athletic training, and biology. I always knew I wanted to work with the human body and was deeply interested in kinesiology. I was fascinated by how the body moves, heals, and performs. However, while I was focused on science and health-related fields, I had not yet realized that my true purpose.

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was during my first year, when I had a student with ADHD whose behavior often challenged me. I was initially timid and unsure of myself, but I reflected on my own childhood and how I needed patience and understanding. Instead of reacting, I connected with him, redirected his energy positively, and built trust. Over time, his focus and behavior improved and so did my confidence as an educator.
