Learn MoreI didn't start out wanting to be a teacher. I had taken two years of science courses hoping to enter the health care profession. I needed to finish college in four years so I changed my major to Biology/General Science education. Thought, I can certainly get through the student teaching then I can apply to physical therapy school. Little did I know how much I would enjoy teaching. I remember leaving school on my last day of student teaching and knew that I had found my calling.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOver forty years in the classroom, I have so many memorable moments, it is hard to choose one. It is always a great moment when I see one of my students get that ah ha moment.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would probably spend some of this on things for my classroom. I am starting up a Biomedical program at school and our district doesn't have a lot of money. We get by writing grants, but I do want to give back.
