I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves to see their own potential. I am passionate about helping students discover that their ideas, voices, and efforts matter. One of my most memorable teaching experiences was supporting a student who believed they "weren't good at math." Through encouragement, modeling mistakes as learning opportunities, and celebrating small succeses, the student began sharing their thinking and taking risks. The moment they confidently explained their reasoning the class reminded me how powerful belief, support, and patience can be in shaping a child's confidence as a learner.

If I were given $25,000, I would use it thoughtfully and give back to my school community. I would donate a portion to Ogden Preparatory Academy to support students in need and help pay off student breakfast, lunch balances, and library fines. I would also pay off unexpected medical bills that created financial stress, and put a significant portion toward my student loans from earning my master's degree. FYI, my brother lives in Hawaii, so I have been there alot...... I WANT TO MEET BILL NYE!
