Tell us why you became a teacher

In the beginning I began my teaching career to be on the same schedule as my children. Little did I know how much I loved this profession. I can honestly say I love my job. I love watching the light bulbs come on when a child “gets it!” And I had something to do with them getting it! I love it when I can break down a concept so that young minds can grasp the information and later find they took ownership of that information and are using it for their good. That is the greatest joy.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is when one of my ADHD students, had trouble focusing on his work. He had a lot of energy and movement. When computers were introduced to the classroom, my assistant and I were able to use that tool to help him learn. It was a break through for him and a blessing for us. He was very successful doing his work in the computer and I was thankful that we had them.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Not sure what I would do with that money. I’ve never had a wind fall of that amount. Maybe a five dollar bill in a pocket somewhere but not that amount. Pay off some bills for sure.
