Tell us why you became a teacher

I wanted to give back to the school I attended as a child.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my students became the director of a science camp that offered schools 1 week for 4th grade and 1 week for 5th hands on science. The ending activity was to build a rocket and set it off. She now teaches children these hands on science activities.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to send students to science conferences and camps during the summer months. There is no better way to get students to learn than with hands on experiences. Science is a critical need area in most of our schools across the America. Getting students excited about learning would boost our scores and spark the interest of young minds.
