Tell us why you became a teacher

I originally worked in the backend oil field in ND before I taught, the COVID 19 pandemic caused me to lose my job, and ultimately put me on the path to becoming a teacher, I was inspired to by the youth I taught at my church back in Bismarck, I love making a positive impact on young lives, it was something I felt spiritually I was called to do. I can say I'm glad I took that chance back in 2021, for it has been well worth it. I teach social studies in a small school in New England ND,

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I really wanted to pioneer new ways of approaching and applying social studies content to middle and high schoolers, I've implemented several lesson plans where I bring my Playstation 4 and we learn about different aspects of US or world history through the medium of video games, which is a blast to do with kids, they love it. My world history class of sophomores got to learn about the medieval period by cutting different types of fruit with a medieval sword I had in possession, that was awesome

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off some of my debts I owe to my student loans and other bills, start investing in my future to buy a house and retire, and donate some to my church back home in Bismarck. I also love to hunt and fish so might upgrade a few toys here and there!
