Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because it was my calling. I spent my younger years volunteering with young children at church. I like creating things to help others and can explain things in different ways so others can understand. I love seeing others have light bulb moments when they understand!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

So far I think my most memorable teaching experience has been this year! My first year as a full time special education teacher. I was given a chance from the administration and it has given me so many new friends, opportunities, and resources.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put it in savings for a future with my husband. He is military and we hope that once we move we can try and purchase land to build our own home. Of course I would spurge a little and have a classroom party for my team, as we all deserve it, and our kids do to!
