I became a teacher because I was inspired by my high school Business Education Teacher, Lois Farese. Then I was inspired by my then girlfriend, (now wife!) a Second Grade Teacher.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy third year in the classroom, I had a student ask me to have my picture taken with her because she was graduating Summa Cum Laude. I said, “Sure, tell me when and where” Then I mentioned this request to my department head. She laughed and said, “Oh, Summa is so much more than a picture!” I must have looked very puzzled because she then explained to me that when a graduating Senior asks you to be their Summa Honoree, it means they believe you were their most influential teacher.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take my retired teacher wife on a cruise! It’s her favorite way to relax.
