Tell us why you became a teacher

I’ve wanted to be a teacher since kindergarten. The educators who inspired me showed how powerful a supportive classroom can be. Now I strive to do the same for my students—helping them find their voice through literature and build confidence on stage in the school musical. Watching students grow and discover what they’re capable of is what makes teaching so rewarding.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences is watching students transform during the school musical. Students who begin the process shy or unsure often grow into confident performers by opening night. Along the way they learn teamwork, resilience, and self-belief. Seeing that growth—and the pride they feel taking their final bow—reminds me why creating opportunities for students to shine is so important.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the funds to invest in my personal and professional future. Financial security allows educators to focus more fully on their students, and this support would provide stability while allowing me to continue growing, learning, and bringing my best self to the classroom and school community.
