Tell us why you became a teacher

I’m a fifth generation educator. For the longest time I wanted to become a veterinarian…and then we got an agriculture education program at my school and from there my ag teacher made such an impact and I realized my calling was to be in the classroom. I love seeing my students succeed in everything they do! It’s not every career where you have the opportunity to make such a lasting impact on multiple generations of our future!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Picking one is hard, however, if I have to choose, I would say it was the first time I had a student make the Top 6 on FFA Creed Speaking. Watching her grow, seeing her struggles turn into successes in a years time was something I will never forget!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would most likely use part of it to check off some bucket list items. The remaining, I would invest in to additional retirement fund and/or to create a scholarship fund for the program I got to start!
