I love teaching because I get to ignite curiosity and witness magical a-ha moments when doubt turn into confidence and learning comes alive.

I became a teacher because I experienced the power of the right support at the right time. As a child, I struggled with long division until a teacher showed me different ways to learn—and suddenly, it clicked. More importantly, I felt seen and capable. That moment stayed with me. I teach to help every child discover their strengths and believe in their ability to learn.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was during our imaginary field trips to learn about countries and cultures. We set up the classroom like airplane seats and “took off” using a computer program to take us to India . As we landed, my second graders asked, “Do we have to fly back so soon?” When I said it was time for recess, they replied, “We can skip recess—when can we fly again?” Their excitement truly touched my heart.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it to create lasting impact for my students by building a rich classroom library, providing hands-on materials, and funding meaningful experiences like real field trips. I would also invest in personal professional development classes so I can continue to grow as an educator and better support all learners.
