Tell us why you became a teacher

In my mid-30s, I found myself at a crossroads in my professional career. I was dissatisfied with my job and yearned to make a positive impact on people's lives. With that desire in mind, I took the bold step of returning to school to become certified in teaching Social Studies in Connecticut.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Without question, it is the first Senior Class that I had the honor of advising. I spent three years with them as a teacher at my school, overseeing their growth. I edited their Yearbook, chaperoned and coordinated their Prom, and spoke at their graduation. That Class is now in their mid-thirties, and many are married with children. I’ll never forget them.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I am near my retirement age and would like to pay off loans on the house and college tuition. It would enable my wife and me to achieve financial freedom in retirement and not worry about finances during our golden years.
