I became a teacher to make a lasting impact on students’ lives. Education opens doors, builds confidence, and shapes how young people see the world. I wanted to create a classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their potential while developing the skills they need for the future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moments as a teacher are seeing students grow both academically and behaviorally. Watching them gain confidence, improve their skills, and make better choices over time is incredibly rewarding. Those moments remind me why teaching matters and how meaningful it is to help shape students’ growth and success.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest a portion in advancing my education and career. I would also start a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on helping minority students in low-income communities. The organization would teach credit literacy, financial responsibility, critical thinking, and leadership skills to help individuals build stronger futures.
