Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to give back and help the posterity of our great country. Helping the youth achieve their goals is very rewarding & fulfilling. At the end of the work day I feel proud about what I put into the universe and how I helped my community.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Last year I promised my students that if 85% of my students passed the American history state test; we could have a day to play Mario Kart in class. 93% of my students passed the state test so we spent 2 days playing games like that together. It was so fulfilling to watch my students (some who I know aren’t friends) play games together and everyone got along. Positive experiences like that are what my students remember about my class! I want them to enjoy being in my classroom and they did!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d probably use most of it to pay off my car. I just recently bought a new car so I could more reliably get to and from work; but I obviously had to pick up a car payment in the process. So I’d put it towards my car loan.
