Tell us why you became a teacher

I chose to become a teacher after working in the medical field for over 20 years. I had just had my 3rd child and I wanted to be able to spend time with all of my kids. I started out at a substitute teacher at my oldest's school and it just fit. I went on to take my certification and become a full teacher that following year. I am currently in my 8th year of teaching and loving every minute of it.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have many memorable moments, however, I think one of the most memorable was when a student finally passed their CAPE Industry certification test after studying for so long. They had previously failed it twice and it was their last chance. When they came back and had a huge grin on their face, it was priceless.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it towards helping my FBLA students and yearbook students attend their annual conferences. I would also purchase items needed for both of those programs.
