Learn MoreI became an Earth science teacher because I was inspired by my Earth science teacher when I was in 8th grade. I remember feeling challenged, but also enjoying the class. I wanted to be that inspiration for students too!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of the most memorable teaching experiences I have had was when I bumped into an old student who told me that they were currently in college to become a meteorologist. They said my Earth science class sparked their love for weather science. But, every note or smile from a student is really important to me as well.
What would you do with the $25,000?I have been diagnosed with a rare genetic neurological condition that will ultimately take my life. Huntington’s disease has rampaged through my family, and although I am pre symptomatic now, that won’t always be the case. I would use the money to live my best life while I have the chance, and create lasting memories with my family. I would also look to support the medical research that is currently being conducted in the quest to treat Huntington’s disease.
