I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves someone who sees their potential before they see it themselves. I grew up valuing service, integrity, and community, and I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to make a meaningful difference. Teaching allows me to combine my love for children, learning, and leadership while helping students grow academically and emotionally.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable moments was watching a struggling student finally believe in themselves. After weeks of encouragement and differentiated support, they completed a math assessment independently and said, “I didn’t think I could do it.” That moment reminded me that teaching isn’t just about academics, it’s about building confidence, resilience, and self-worth that lasts far beyond the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would invest in classroom resources that directly impact student engagement and success—flexible seating, updated technology, hands-on learning materials, and books that reflect diverse experiences. I would also create enrichment opportunities and family engagement events to strengthen the home-school connection. Every dollar would go toward creating a safe, inspiring space where students feel valued and empowered.
