Tell us why you became a teacher

I didn’t always know I would go into education, but stepping into special education changed my life. Now serving as Co-Program Director of an adult special needs program, I see every day how powerful community, support, and opportunity can be. Helping individuals grow in confidence, independence, and purpose is one of the greatest privileges of my life, and it continues to shape the person and leader I am.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience has been founding Agape Village with my partner and Co-Program Director, Tim Smith. Together we created a program serving adults with special needs in Santa Clarita. Watching it grow and seeing our clients gain confidence, skills, and community has been incredibly meaningful. There isn’t one single moment—it’s the daily privilege of building a village where everyone belongs.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to strengthen the village that makes our work possible. A portion would support our incredible staff and aides at Agape Village, whose dedication impacts our clients every day. I would invest $10,000 directly into program growth and resources, support partner organizations that serve alongside us, and reinvest in the leadership and vision needed to continue expanding opportunities for our community.
