Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I enjoy helping others. I love sharing knowledge, supporting students as they grow, and knowing I can make a difference in their lives. Teaching allows me to share my passion, encourage curiosity, and help students discover their strengths and potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The beginning of my teaching career is what I’ll never forget. It was baptism by fire. I questioned myself often and wondered if I had chosen the right path. Working in special education brought moments that were incredibly hard and sometimes traumatic. But those experiences shaped me. They forced me to grow, find my resilience, and ultimtely become a stronger educator.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to help pay off my student loans and take my family on a vacation. They’ve supported me throughout my career in education, a profession I love but that doesn’t always come with financial rewards. I would also use some of the money to create incentives or something special for students and staff at my school who demonstrate Buc Pride!
