Teaching actually fell into my lap and I love being in a tiny town - 1A, Title I, school on the edge of the Navajo Reservation. Being THE HS science teacher is also the best —> I have students for at least 3 years. My job as a teacher is NOT to teach, it is to build brains - I do that through teaching. Providing opportunities for students to have questions and find answers, a skill that they need as an adult, that is what drives me.

*I had an amazing experience with my last parent teacher conference with a student and their parents. This student was not a very good student last year, but made some decisions and has been doing very well this year - I am excited for their future - we all were in tears during that meeting. *Taking students to Eastern Arizona College for a STEM competition. All of our teams placed and one team won $24,000 scholarship for each student on the team - nothing really can beat that!

*I would love to travel and visit our foreign exchange student in France and past foreign exchange students I have had in my classroom. *I would like to finally finish getting my 50 year old lab updated by getting more cool stuff including digital microscopes. *I also want to fly MY FAVORITE teacher from MD to AZ to our Bill Nye assembly --> I am the teacher I am ONLY because he was my greatest teacher --> what an honor that would be to have him with me.
