Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I had kind and encouraging teachers that inspired and motivated me to do my best and succeed. I wanted to do the same for others as well. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment to help students grow and achieve. I want to help students know that they can do anything!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was when a 5th grade student scored an 85% on a math test after struggling in math for a long time. He had been working hard with me and previous teachers in small groups and studying hard at home with his mom. It was an exciting moment for him and his village because we all knew he could do it! He continued to improve and achieve in math and all subject areas.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would give back to my family, who are my biggest supporters that got me to where I am today. I would also like to help my students and colleagues with amazing back to school supplies!
