Learn MoreWhen I was in fourth grade I did not have a great relationship with my teacher. From then I knew I wanted to be a teacher and create a space for students where they were loved, respected and able to learn knowing they could be themselves in my classroom.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhen teaching my kindergartners about living and nonliving things I always love using gummy worms and real worms. The students get to use more than just observation skills. It is funny to see them react to the worms. After we decide which is living and nonliving we go on to observe how worms live and what they do for soil. This becomes more than one lesson for us and more than only observing, but also taking care of an animal.
What would you do with the $25,000?I was in a car accident in December where I slid on ice and rear ended a semi truck. Thankfully I was on my way to work and my kids were not with me. I was also going slow enough not to be hurt, but the collision company and insurance company deemed my car a “total loss”. I am currently borrowing my parent’s car. I would put the $25,000 toward a new vehicle if I won.
