I became a teacher because I wanted to be a source of encouragement and support for children. When I was in school, I struggled with feelings of inadequacy. I became determined to work in a field where I could help youth like me. Teaching gives me the opportunity to encourage and support children with love, joy, and enthusiasm.

My most memorable teaching experience is when the entire class sang along to a song we used to help us remember the steps of the water cycle. It was joyful, fun, educational, and a great moment of connection between me and my students.

I would use the $25,000 for materials and supplies to support STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education at our school. The money could help replenish the supplies for our school Fork Farms (hydroponic growing systems) and our general science materials for hands-on activities and labs in grades 3-8.
