Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceHaving students who hate reading fall in love with it! I choose high-interest, relevant writers like Jason Reynolds and show students that reading is enjoyable!
What would you do with the $25,000?After I take a well-deserved trip to Hawaii and get to explore nature and recharge, I will have money to support my own teenage daughters’ education. I will donate ten percent to my PTO to support my community. Teaching in a high-needs, title 1 school with a mostly immigrant population is draining. I’m constantly in a state of overstimulation and stress. I need to recalibrate, especially as a single parent of two teens who have mental health and behavioral needs! I’ve been through it, y’all!
