I became a teacher because I love literature and composition, and I wanted to help students discover the power of their own voices. Teaching college classes in a high school setting gives students the chance to see themselves as real scholars and writers earlier than they might expect. Being part of that moment when a student realizes their ideas matter and that they can engage with complex texts and conversations is what makes the work meaningful to me.

One of my most memorable teaching experiences is watching students realize that their voices matter. I teach college level composition and literature in a high school setting, and many students begin the year unsure of themselves. Over time they gain confidence, share ideas, and engage deeply with complex texts. Seeing that moment when a student realizes they belong in academic conversations is incredibly rewarding.

I would reinvest it directly into my classroom. I would build a stronger library, add multimedia tools for student projects, and create more hands on learning opportunities like guest speakers, workshops, and field trips. My goal would be to give students real world experiences that make literature and writing feel alive.
