I became an Elementary School teacher because the early years are when curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning begin. I enjoy helping young children build foundational skills while encouraging creativity and kindness. Seeing students grow academically and socially and knowing I helped shape their confidence and excitement for school, makes teaching deeply meaningful to me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was helping a shy student who barely spoke during the first weeks of school. Through play, storytelling, and daily routines, she slowly began to feel comfortable. One day during circle time, this student raised her hand and shared a story with the class. Seeing her confidence grow and watching her classmates cheer her on was incredibly rewarding. It reminded me how important a supportive early learning environment is.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to enhance my classroom and support my students' learning experiences. I would invest in hands-on learning materials, books for the classroom library, sensory and play- based learning centers, and updated technology. I would also use a portion to provide supplies for students who may not have access to them, helping ensure every child has the resources they need to succeed.
