Growing up in a big family made be love having children around me. Since I was a little kids I knew I wanted to be a teacher to make everyone feel involved. Being latina and not speaking English as a first language felt like I didn’t belong to school. I felt no one really gave me the help I needed. This has make me want to help every single student as much as I can. I try to be as patient and kind to all my kids. I make my class feel as a safe place for all of them.

One of my favorite memorable teaching experiences is when one morning I was in line waiting for my coffee and a lady I hadn’t meet before call me by my teacher name. “Good morning Ms.Jenny”, she said.I was surprised and for one second I thought it was someone I knew, however she immediately told me she was my students aunt. She told me how one of my student (her niece) talks about Ms.Jenny ALL THE TIME. That she has her class picture frame at her room and is always showing everyone her teacher.

I love having my class decorated, I spend my own money on things for my kids and would love to buy more things. For sure I would spend some on my classroom and on my students. One thing my students love about me is that I always try to wear cute outfits for them, I will be buying more teacher clothes. Also as I said before I grew up in a big family which this made us be on the low income. I will love taking my mom out and buying stuff for her that I usually can afford. She made me be who I am.
