This is a work of the heart for me. I had some amazing teachers in my life and some not so amazing ones as well. My experiences led me to wanting to make a difference in the overall feel of education. I have a desire to make learning meaningful and fun. Building a classroom where everyone feels valued and has a sense of belonging is important to me. I am passionate about my community and doing my part to contribute in a positive way to the lives of my students and their families.

Picture a four year old boy who was outgoing, excited about the world around him and loved everything to do with outside. We had spent much of the week discussing the seasons and weather. We were looking forward to our first snowfall! This kiddo was in the bathroom and he heard another child screech in delight that it was snowing. He was so excited to see that he came right out of the bathroom with pants around his ankles and proceeded to pee everywhere. It was a great first snowfall day!

I live in the poorest county in Maine. We have so many needs in our school community. I would love to donate some money for our playground. For me, I would buy some books, new shoes and hope to have some money to take a night away with my husband. Teachers don't often do for themselves and we certainly don't have the ability to show our loved ones how much we appreciate their support. This money would allow me to do those 3 things and feel great about it!
