Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’m passionate about helping others learn and grow. I’ve always found it rewarding to support people as they build confidence and develop new skills. Teaching allows me to make a meaningful impact by guiding students through challenges and helping them reach their potential. It also gives me the opportunity to continue learning and improving my own understanding every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was working with a student who was initially struggling and lacked confidence in their abilities. Over time, I adapted my approach to better match their learning style, breaking concepts down and providing consistent encouragement. Seeing their progress not just academically, but developmentally and willingness to participate was incredibly rewarding. By the end, they were more engaged and proud of their work.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded the $25,000, I would use it both to support my students and to meet some personal needs. A significant portion would go toward enhancing my classroom—investing in updated resources, technology, and materials that make learning more engaging and accessible, as well as enrichment opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. I would also use part of the funds to support my own financial stability, allowing me to continue focusing fully on my students and my professional growth.
