I had a teacher who changed your life. A great teacher can plant the seed. Maybe someone believed in me when others didn’t—and I wanted to become that person for someone else.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences in teaching happened with a student who struggled both academically and personally. At the beginning of the year, they were disengaged, rarely completed assignments, and often kept to themselves. It was clear there was more going on beneath the surface than just difficulty with the material. Instead of focusing only on grades, I made it a priority to build trust. I started checking in regularly, offering encouragement, and creating a safe space.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were given $25,000 for my school, I would focus on creating a learning environment that is engaging, equitable, and supportive for all students.
