After retiring from the United States Navy, I became a teacher to continue serving and to make a lasting impact on the leaders of tomorrow. With many family members in education, teaching has always been a passion of mine. I’ve long planned to teach and coach after my military career, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to guide, mentor, and inspire students each day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was teaching Outdoor Adventure, where I led hunter and boater education, air rifle, and archery lessons. I took students on trips to zip line and canoe, giving many opportunities they might not otherwise have. I’ve also loved coaching junior high football, basketball, and soccer, mentoring athletes and celebrating multiple district championships together.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won the $25,000 from America’s Favorite Teacher, I would take a meaningful vacation to recharge and celebrate with my family. Then, I would give back to my school by investing in something special for my students and athletes—something that honors their hard work, represents their spirit, and creates opportunities they’ll remember for years to come.
