Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’m passionate about helping young people discover who they are and what they’re capable of. Teaching CTE — especially preparing future healthcare providers — lets me give students real skills, real confidence, and real pathways into meaningful careers. Watching them step into the world ready to make a difference is the reason I chose this profession and the reason I stay in it.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

When I received an email from a parent saying I was the only reason thier son went school and looked forward to my class every day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were honored with a $25,000 Teacher of the Year prize, I would use it to expand opportunities for my students and strengthen our CTE healthcare program. I’d invest in updated equipment, support students who need help paying for certifications, and create pathways that help them step confidently into healthcare careers. I’d also set aside a portion for my own professional development so I can continue growing and bringing the best possible training to my classroom. For me, the prize wouldn’t
