Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher after losing my military husband. I was pregnant and had a 4 year old. I had to support and be available to my sons. The teaching profession made sense.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experiences are when the administration tells me every year I placed these students in your class because you understand them. These students have ADD and ADHD and trauma issues as my own son’s had.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would create a program at my school for parents, staff and students that struggle with ADD and ADHD. These children need patience and support. Many of them get in trouble and they can’t help it. I wished there had been program like this for my sons.
