I get energized by my students. When they start to get the learning bug I get excited, it means that they are sponges. Teaching them is fun!

Learn MoreI wanted every child to know that they are smart in their own unique way. I especially wanted to work with students with special needs because many times they are either not seen or not thought of correctly. I want every child to celebrate their uniqueness and know they have people on their side cheering loudly for them!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI was working with high school students who had special needs. It was a girl that I had known since her freshman year, fact she hated me freshman year. It was her Junior year and she would cook on Fridays for students that needed breakfast for the next week and make fun treat for all the classes. I was transferring to another school before the end of the year. She came to me and thanked me for not giving up on her and pushing her to do more and try her best. I saw what caring does for students.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would get flexible seating for the two classrooms I work in and more bean bags. I would purchase better science equipment for my students to keep in the room and use at any time. I would also take some classes to help me continue to learn, grow and help my students. I would buy a printer for my room to make my life easier. The most important thing, I would buy gift certificates for all my paraprofessionals to a massage or something they would like to thank them for all their hard work.
