Tell us why you became a teacher

I chose to become a teacher because I believe I can create a positive impact in the world by helping children realize their full potential. My goal is to enhance critical thinking skills to contribute to a better society. Teaching is a deeply rewarding career. Teachers make an impact on children and families daily.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments occurred when I successfully improved the reading scores of students who had previously struggled with literacy. These students motivated me to buy more books that featured characters who resembled them. This experience stands out to me because they were once reluctant readers who didn't enjoy reading.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The $25,000 would provide my students with an unforgettable field trip experience. Many people learn best through hands-on experiences, yet my students have not had the chance to create lifelong memories. I would love to take them to Washington D.C., one of the most educational cities in the world. Traveling by train would also allow them to explore other cities along the way to Chicago and Washington D.C. This trip would be a memory they would cherish for the rest of their lives.
