Learn MoreI had the opportunity to work in a Deaf education classroom as an assistant a few years out of high school. Prior to that I had no direction in life. I instantly knew on Day 1 meeting those kids that this was what I was meant to do. To this day more than 20 years later, I’m still in contact with many of my students!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWatching my students (completely non-verbal) at our first ever regional ASL State competition. I got chills watching them communicate in my language. It was and still is the most amazing teaching experience seeing non-signers become proficient signers in a real-world setting.
What would you do with the $25,000?Pay off my student loans I have been paying for past 31 years and use the rest for my daughters who are both in college.
