I was CALLED to teach. I avoided it for years and kept being pulled to education through every job! Whether retail or Water Conservation, I taught in some way. I enjoyed science as a student, so I wanted to give back and empower students through science education.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience is from my first year of teaching, during an observation! I was giving a lesson on the states of matter and I mentioned how a thermometer rose...a student raised her hand and said she'd never seen that happen. I quickly grabbed a thermometer while I was talking and said, "here, hold this." I kept talking and after a moment she exclaimed, "whoa!" I live for those real time learning moments.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would definitely purchase a few static generators for my physical science class, and a Van De Graaff generator. I save a bit and do some landscaping in my yard.
