I went into education to be a part of something greater than myself to pragmatically serve kids, and families from all different socioeconomic backgrounds. I find there’s a great joy and deep satisfaction in knowing you’re helping positively change the trajectory of someone’s life in the work you do. More specifically I decided to become a speech therapist assistant on a volunteer trip after working with kids at an orphanage in Mexico.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was during my time overseas as an international educator in both Europe and South America. I got the opportunity to teach in Bulgaria while volunteering at the local orphanage in Sofia.
What would you do with the $25,000?Keep a percentage and give the other to my hometown elementary school and other educational institutions.
