Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to share my passion for music and motivate the next generation of leaders in our country. Music and education have had a positive impactful on me, my friends, and my community throughout my life. I wanted to share that same impact onto other people and help them become great people.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was sharing the news that my school's marching band earned a spot at state finals. It was a moment that marked the amount of growth and development that the students have put in since the band was at an all time low three years ago. From bickering to troubling funds for the band program, we were able to work together, the students put in hard work, and made a remarkable accomplishment.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would utilize the funds to support my student loans and support for my school's band program. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Music Education, and the money would help support less of a financial burden on myself. The band program has old instruments and equipment, they need support in replacing that equipment, but band instruments and equipment cost a lot of money. The funds would support getting updated instruments and equipment, which will enhance the student experience in band.
