I love teaching because I believe I was destined to be a part of the change in our community. Teaching isn’t just my job, it’s my purpose!

I became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. I wanted to be the adult who encourages, supports, and believes in children when they are still discovering who they are. Working with young learners allows me to build strong academic foundations while also helping students grow in confidence, curiosity, and character.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was watching a struggling reader gain confidence and finally read a book aloud to the class. At the beginning of the year, the student was discouraged and afraid to try. Through patience, encouragement, and consistent practice, they began to believe in themselves. Seeing their pride and excitement reminded me why teaching truly matters.
What would you do with the $25,000?If awarded the $25,000, I would invest in literacy resources, hands-on learning materials, and technology that supports early reading and math development. I would also expand tutoring opportunities for students who need extra support outside the classroom. My goal would be to create more engaging learning experiences and ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed.
