I became a teacher to make a difference in this world and to our future. I was called to this profession.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

There are so many, honestly. I never get over when a student who’s struggled their whole educational career finally achieve success and are able to apply something that I’ve taught them. It’s the most rewarding feeling in the world.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I took care of my mother during her last 5-6 years of her battle with dementia, and I felt that I neglected my own family in doing that as two of my daughters were going through their most formative years. I’d like to take my family on a true family vacation before they start their own as a thank you for supporting me.
