I became a teacher because I love making an impact on the lives of young people and I have a passion for the field of science. Teaching students about the world around them is very important to me, and watching students develop their scientific reasoning skills is very rewarding.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience is moving from teaching 8th grade to 9th grade with the class of 2025, and then teaching some of them again in AP Biology when they were seniors. Watching this group of kids grow from middle school through high school graduation was a wonderful experience.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take my family on a vacation. My oldest (21 year old) son will graduate college next year, and I want to take him somewhere to celebrate his graduation. We recently lost our 19 year old son in a car accident, and our family could use something positive. I would also put down new flooring in our living room and kitchen, as it is much needed.
