I love teaching because it is a chance to leave a lasting impact on our youth for their entire lives!

I decided to become a teacher when I felt a need to give back to my community. Before that feeling, I always had a passion for teaching the youth, through my role as a percussion instructor and a drill team coach. My parents also noticed how youth gravitated to me and looked to me as a role model. All of these things culminated in to my present role as an educator.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was when a child that everyone counted out, reached academic success. He took a keen interest in Science and began to perform at levels similar to academically gifted students. It gave me hope that I was where I needed to be.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000, I would put most of it aside for my children’s future. I would pay some bills and take my family on a small vacation. I would also re-invest in my classroom. As most teachers know and experience, being an educator is more than just a time investment, it is a financial one.
