Being the eldest of a very large family, teaching always came natural to me. It was in the 10th grade while sitting in my theater class, when I realized that I wanted to share the feeling of amazement with others. Theatre is for everyone, and I have made it my mission to incorporate it in all of my student’s lives, either as performers or theatre goers.

I started at a school that didn’t have a theater teacher/director for years. The students had been running the program, alone. When I got there, they were hesitant to trust me, but after the first year, they were believers. Closing night of Xanadu, I’ll never forget their faces when they all came out for final bows to a full, standing house. I love watching students persevere! Those students learned all it takes is believing in themselves and each other to make things happen!

I would put to towards a trip to England for my students and myself. We want to go and do a Shakespeare tour. This money would allow that to happen. (And pay off some debt, after all, I AM a teacher)
