Jai’De Cano

I became a teacher because I believe education has the power to change lives. Growing up, I saw how a caring and dedicated teacher could make a student feel confident, capable, and excited to learn. That inspired me to want to be that positive influence for others. I chose this profession because I want to help students discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and believe in themselves.

One of my most memorable teaching experiences has been watching my students grow from the beginning of the year to the end. At the start, many of them were unsure of themselves and still building their skills, but as the months passed, I saw their confidence rise, their effort increase, and their abilities strengthen. I especially love seeing the numbers increase whether it’s reading levels, test scores, or personal goals outside of school.

I would use the money to remove barriers for my students whether that means supplying materials they may not otherwise have access to or creating opportunities that expand their learning beyond the classroom. To me, this funding wouldn’t just be money; it would be a chance to strengthen my impact as a teacher and continue guiding my students toward a successful future.
