Learn MoreI became a teacher to help others and to make learning fun. You don’t need to do worksheets all day and be stern all day. There’s a fine mix. I had a not so great teacher in first grade which should be the best. Then 2nd and 5th grade teachers showed me how much you can learn when your teachers love you and provide support.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are many memorable ones. A big one in particular is when a mostly non verbal child said my name. Every day I would say “Who loves you?… Jackie .” Then one day I said it and he said my name with a huge smile.
What would you do with the $25,000?Some of it would go towards my children’s college fund. Some would go to our mortgage. But I would also use it to take my kids to Disney and Peppa Pig World.
