I became a teacher to inspire kids to learn and dream. Formerly a high school football player and coach, I remember how lost I felt graduating high school with a torn acl and no scholarships. Today, I am a classical singer and was a 2nd year grad student of voice when I became a High School Choir teacher. Although afraid to fail, I knew I had the greatest opportunity to impact young minds - daring them to dream and to become creatives, while supporting them any way I can post graduation.

While there are many, I most enjoy seeing and hearing my students discover themselves in music. I’ve watched how my being a student in grad school, encouraged them to be the best students they could be. The glimmers of confidence that came within their voices and effort when they’d discover the power of work and belief! A monumental moment though, will have to be the 1st competition my student was awarded a state qualifying medal for his solo performance. He earned it and inspired me!

I will use the funds to finally establish my scholarship foundation and present scholarships to 3 of my graduating Seniors. Even without the foundation - it has always been a dream of mine to provide scholarships to students who graduate high school seeking to pursue bachelor’s degrees in music, theater, or business. I hope to pay it forward and remove the fear of financial hindrance from their pursuit, offering mentorship and financial support as my mentors had done for me in college.
