I love teaching because I help students discover their purpose, build confidence, and choose their destiny beyond the classroom.

I became a teacher after my parents noticed how much I loved mentoring and helping young people grow. I started as a video editor, but realized I enjoyed teaching editing even more than doing it myself. That passion led me to use my bachelor’s degree to step into the classroom as an unlicensed sixth-grade teacher, and eventually serve as a P.E. instructor and Athletic Director—impacting students both academically and athletically.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience came in my first year, when I was given one of the school’s most challenging classes. One student in particular struggled and our relationship started off rocky. Through patience, consistency, and connecting through basketball, trust grew. By the end of the year, that student became one of the top in the class and is now even being considered to skip a grade.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I win the $25,000, I will use it to continue my education and earn my official teaching license. Teaching isn’t just my job—it’s my calling. This opportunity would help me become a full-time coach and instructor, allowing me to pour even more into the lives of students who need guidance, belief, and someone in their corner.
