I became a teacher because my heart has always belonged in a classroom and I deeply believe in the light within every child. The journey here required resilience, faith, and perseverance, but each challenge strengthened my purpose. I teach with warmth, patience, and unwavering belief in my students. My greatest hope is that they learn to rise, try again, and leave my classroom confident in themselves and their ability to overcome anything.

My most memorable teaching experience was during my student teaching in a first-grade classroom. I worked closely with a student who entered without knowing how to write or spell her name and was selectively mute. Through patience and trust, we built a bond that helped her find confidence and her voice. Watching her write her name independently for the first time shaped my devotion to supporting students of all abilities.

I would use the $25,000 to help pay down my remaining student loans, allowing me greater financial stability as I continue dedicating myself fully to my students and profession. With that relief, I would also invest in creating a more diverse, hands-on, and resource-rich classroom filled with inclusive books, engaging learning materials, and interactive tools that support learners of all abilities and backgrounds.
